Feel free to join us as we drool over a true classic – a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 with some added modern components. We’re not always fans of updating vintage cars with new technology – often we feel they’re better restored to their original conditions – but this car is simply too beautiful to hold that against it. Made popular in the Nicolas Cage movie Gone in 60 Seconds, we just can’t get enough of this awesome piece of classic Mustang lineage.
The original 1967 GT500 offered a 7.0 liter 428 cubic-inch engine, putting out 355 horsepower and 420 ft-lbs of torque. With a 0-60 time of 6.5 seconds, you can get a feel for how far performance cars have come in over 45 years, even the production models. Still, this is certainly a car to behold. This one you’re viewing now has updated features – 4-wheel Baer disc brakes, new gauges and tachometer, and a new Ford Motorsports 351 and Tremec hydraulic racing transmission. While holding true to the look and feel of the original, we’re fans of the modifications made to Eleanor, named after the same car from the Nic Cage movie. If you can appreciate the beauty of this classic Mustang, be sure to like and share our page.
