We enjoyed watching this 3-way drag race sponsored by Motor Trend that pitted a 2011 Ford Mustang GT against a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS and a 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8. These 3 muscle cars have been battling it out at car dealerships across America every day for years, and it’s only fitting that someone rounded the group up to settle things on the drag strip.
The Mustang GT pushes 412 horsepower and 390 ft-lbs of torque, compared to 425 HP and 420 ft-lbs of torque for the Challenger and 426 horsepower and 420 ft-lbs for the Camaro. The difference, however, proves to be the favorable power-to-weight ratio of the Mustang. The Mustang GT reigns supreme in this matchup, followed closely by the Camaro SS, then finally by the Challenger SRT8. Look, in our humble opinion, you can’t go wrong driving any of these cars, and all are great for various reasons. However, this may give some indication as to the decision to replace the Challenger with the new 2015 SRT Barracuda.
