Quick lesson for all you guys out there – when someone’s attempting a world record run in a high performance racer and you can clearly hear this car approaching, maybe that’s not the best time to cross the race track. Got it? Sebastian Loeb’s run this year at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb was ridiculously impressive. Imagine being one of the other 3 guys to actually break the previous world record, only to see Loeb obliterate it by over a minute and a half. He achieved this in a Peugeot 208 T16 with a 3.2L, twin-turbo V6 that gets 875 bhp – a real monster for this course.
Of course, that’s all well and good, but this year’s run was almost remembered for something totally different. Imagine if these guys had waited about 3 more seconds before making their move – we guarantee we would be looking at one or more dead morons in the middle of the track. We can’t imagine what was so important that demanded these idiots cross the raceway right then…we certainly don’t see a naked girl or a keg on the other side. These guys are lucky SOBs, and hopefully learned a lesson. Like and share if you hope so, too.
