Dyno Testing the New 2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray

There are muscle cars, and then there are muscle cars, and the 2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray looks like it belongs in that 2nd category. Like it or not, the Corvette has long been one of the iconic pictures of American muscle and performance, and with this new version, Chevy continues to set the bar high. The new Vette comes standard with a small block 6.2 liter pushrod V-8 that creates 460 horsepower and 465 ft-lbs of torque, making it the most powerful standard Corvette ever produced, and giving it a 0-60 time of less than 4 seconds. The only question for Edmunds during their review? Did those numbers hold up when put to the dyno test. The answers will please Corvette fans.

On the dyno, the Vette was consistently within a couple of horsepower of Chevy’s claim. Add to that the awesome upgrades made to the interior comfort and new technology features, we think this makes for a tough decision for even the most die-hard fans of other sports cars. What do you guys think – would your preference be the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, or has another car caught your eye?
