This video of a Nissan R35 GT-R running the quarter mile in the 7-second range – 7.984 to be exact – is simply mind-blowing. Just listen to that engine roar to life. What you’re hearing is the sound of a performance machine that can do 0-60 in 1.72 seconds. Yes, you read that right – a ridiculous 1.72 0-60 time. This impressive performance was achieved by AMS Performance, a company that is quickly becoming the go-to source for the most bad-ass GT-Rs anyone has ever seen. These guys currently hold almost all of the top GT-R speed records, and they can add this one to their trophy case – first GT-R to run a sub-8 second quarter mile.
Our favorite part is when driver Ivan Phipps is heading down the return lane, with no clue how impressive the run really was. You can see the excitement when he realizes he just ran a 1/4 mile in the 7-second range. Other new records posted by the team are fastest 60-130 mph time (2.67 seconds), fastest 0-300 kph (7.98 seconds), and fastest 100-150 mph time (2.42 seconds). Oh, and the cool part is that if you own a Nissan GT-R, these guys will customize your ride with some of the same performance car parts used in their record-breaking car, transforming your stock model into a true performance machine. With the pedigree they’re putting together, we can’t think of anyone we’d rather trust with a GT-R. Be sure to like and share if you were as impressed with this run by AMS Performance as we were.
