We’re big fans of GoPro cameras – cheap, well-made HD video recorders that you can place almost anywhere – and we got a kick out of this video showing what happens when one catches a great view of when things go wrong! This would-be racer is testing out his 4th generation Chevrolet Camaro in a drag race at the Palm Beach International Speedway, and lets his buddy attach a GoPro camera to the inside of the T-Top for a really cool view of his race. But there’s one big problem – after attaching the camera, the T-Top wasn’t fastened back in place securely.
Things start fine, but the incident happens about an 1/8th of a mile into the run, while the Camaro is traveling around 100 miles-per-hour. Suddenly, the T-Top comes unfastened, shoots about 30 feet into the air, then comes down hard and smashes on the asphalt. All with the camera still attached, capturing the whole incident, including the deafening sound of the crash. Hey, these guys wanted a cool video, right? Just probably not the one they expected. Eh, the driver was way behind in the race anyway – this was way more fun! If you enjoyed watching, don’t forget to like and share.
