Two Million Bikers Ride to DC for 9/11

In an awesome show of support for the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks, a huge group of bikers made their way to Washington, D.C. from all parts of the country. The goal was 2 million, and while the evidence shows they came in a bit under that number, the showing was still impressive, nonetheless. In this video, you can get a glimpse of just how many guys and gals on bikes did show up, and it was pretty awesome.

In addition to supporting the victims of 9-11, the ride served another purpose, too. The organizers of this ride caught wind of another group planning an event on the anniversary of September 11 – a Muslim rally, put together by the American Muslim Political Action Committee, to draw attention to the unfair treatment of Muslims in the U.S. in the wake of 9/11. Needless to say, that didn’t sit too well with many, and this rally was just one (a rather big one) response to that Muslim rally. While the Muslim rally drew only dozens of supporters, tens of thousands of bikers let their voices (and engines) be heard. A very cool tribute to September 11th, we thought.
